Aqueles que metem o bugalho em tudo
dizem que as malas das mulheres
são transposições do útero.
Acho muito ordinário
pois se o corpo é ao contrário
a minha, como a de Anne,
guardaria um aquário.
Meto a mão para remexer peixes
que mordem à procura de isco.
Um cigarro molhado acende-se no escuro.
Penso, se roupa é o corpo do avesso
que dizer dos bolsos de caqui colonial
ou dos calções de combate no deserto?
Terão homens inveja da vila?
Aqui carecas não usam pente no bolso
de trás
de trás
e é isso que constrange o contrário.
Intimidade
Não consigo adormecer
sem o ressonar do marido
da mesma maneira
que parei de ver filmes
desde que encontrei os óculos
Preciso do som
para ganhar fôlego
mandar para o escuro
o olho da noite.
Somos dois cabeças no ar
pagamos por compras
que deixamos nas lojas
e se não fosse o filho
não entraríamos
em casa.
Há muito que perdemos
as chaves.
Dois vencidos
que cantam destoados
nas ruas fazendo
figura triste
apesar de nos rirmos.
Quando discutimos
castigo-o com fado
e os Dubliners.
Ah mulher, não me toques
folclore
que me desafinas
Ele vinga-se com os
Genesis do Gabriel.
Ah, homem
não me dês escatologia
que Messias
dão-me alergias.
Do pós-vida e a alma
fazemos apalpões.
Sabe que amo
os que antes dele existiam
e que por isso nunca mais
os verei.
Sei que ama
as que depois virão
e que por isso já as ceguei.
Há muito que o advento soprou.
À próxima teremos asas.
Sabemos que querer
dói menos que o fim
e lá nos vamos
consolando no outro
depositando na vida
a bolsa
dessa ausência de todos.
Não consigo dormir
sem o ressonar dele
acertar o fôlego
pela confiança
da comédia
daquele coração deitado
e passando os dedos
pelo dorso dono
fechar estes olhos
vidrados à morte
exorcizando a mão
entre aquelas
pernas longas
até ao abandono.
Na volta descobrimos
que não nos deixámos.
Uns simplórios
Anne Sexton
As It Was Written
Earth, earth,
riding your merry-go-round
toward extinction,
right to the roots,
thickening the oceans like gravy,
festering in your caves,
you are becoming a latrine.
Your trees are twisted chairs.
Your flowers moan at their mirrors,
and cry for a sun that doesn't wear a mask.
Your clouds wear white,
trying to become nuns
and say novenas to the sky.
The sky is yellow with its jaundice,
and its veins spill into the rivers
where the fish kneel down
to swallow hair and goat's eyes.
All in all, I'd say,
the world is strangling.
And I, in my bed each night,
listen to my twenty shoes
converse about it.
And the moon,
under its dark hood,
falls out of the sky each night,
with its hungry red mouth
to suck at my scars.

Just keep playing your part
I love the way you're breaking my heart
It's terribly, terribly, terribly, terribly thrilling
I love the way you're breaking my heart
Although you're gonna ruin it
It's heaven while you're doin' it
I love the way I feel when we kiss
You're terribly, terribly, terribly irresistible
Sigh to me, and lie to me, you really know how
It's gonna hurt tomorrow, but it feels so good now
So darling, just keep playing your part
Take your time and really finish the things that you start
'Cause I love the way you're breaking my heart!

A tirania exige a simplificação.
On Reading Crowds and Power
1
Cloven, we are incorporate, our wounds
simple but mysterious. We have
some wherewithal to bide our time on earth.
Endurance is fantastic; ambulances
battling at intersections, the city
intolerably en fête. My reflexes
are words themselves rather than standard
flexures of civil power. In all of this
Cassiopeia's a blessing
as is steady Orion beloved of poets.
Quotidian natures ours for the time being
I do not know
how we should be absolved or what is fate.

which spread it. So long as there are mouths
to reiterate the one name it does not
matter whose they are.
The fact that to the seeker after fame
they are indistinguishable from each other
and are all counted as equal shows that this
passion has its origin in the experience
of crowd manipulation. Names collect
their own crowds. They are greedy, live their own
separate lives, hardly at all connected
with the real natures of the men who bear them.

But hear this: that which is difficult
preserves democracy; you pay respect
to the intelligence of the citizen.
Basics are not condescension. Some
tyrants make great patrons. Let us observe
this and pass on. Certain directives
parody at your own risk. Tread lightly
with personal dignity and public image.
Safeguard the image of the common man.

Undesirable you may have been, untouchable
you were not. Not forgotten
or passed over at the proper time.
As estimated, you died. Things marched,
sufficient, to that end.
Just so much Zyklon and leather, patented
terror, so many routine cries.
(I have made
an elegy for myself it
is true)
September fattens on vines. Roses
flake from the wall. The smoke
of harmless fires drifts to my eyes.
This is plenty. This is more than enough.

Vivre pour vivre
L'habitude qui nous lie,
C'est le corps du délit
Qui accuse ma vie
Le combat que nous menons
Dissimule son nom
Au nom de la raison
On se déchire, on se débat
Si l'on voit en cela
Qu'on ne renonce pas,
C'est vivre pour vivre
Pour vivre on répond présent
Quand on sent le présent
Qui nous semble impatient
A chacun sa vérité
Le présent, le passé
Vont bien s'y retrouver
Quand de New York à Paris

sob as montanhas cinzentas
e montanhas cinzentas
e a aurora indecisa demore
A noite trocou-me os sonhos e as mãos
dispersou-me os amigos
tenho o coração confundido e a rua é estreita
Soletro velhas palavras generosas
Flor rapariga amigo menino

A fotografia é belíssima.
Quero a vida."

Esta noite morrerás
Esta noite morrerás.
Quando a lua vier tocar-me o rosto
terás partido do meu leito
encontra urtigas crescendo
por sobre o teu nome.
Esta noite morrerás.
Quando a lua vier tocar-me o rosto
terás partido do meu leito
e uma gota de sangue ressequido
é a marca dos teus passos.
No coração do tempo pulsa um maquinismo ínscio
e na casa do tempo a hora é adorno.
Quando a lua vier tocar-me o rosto a tua sombra extinta marca
Constante.
O mar é isso.
A lua vir tocar-me o rosto e encontrar urtigas crescendo
por sobre o teu nome.
O mar é tu morreste.
O mar é ser noite e vir a lua tocar-me o rosto quando tu par-
tiste e no meu leito crescem folhas sangue.
e a opacidade do mar.
No meu leito a lua vai tocar-me o rosto e a tua ausência é um
a tua língua solta.
O teu ventre, lua.
o mar se abra e a lua possa vir tocar-me o rosto.
noite e urtigas crescerem no meu leito.
tu morreste para poderes enfim tocar-me o rosto.
A idade da escrita
I
escrita
porque toda a minha atividade gira à volta da escrita.
Mas não há só uma escrita nossa
a que escrevemos para nós:
a escrita é POR CAUSA DO TEMPO
é POR CAUSA DOS OUTROS
é para não esquecermos
é para sermos lembrados é PARA SERMOS ALÉM DE

Costumo dizer que a nossa era é

a da IDADE DA ESCRITA
porque a nossa era é
a era da ESCRIBATURA
a IDADE DA ESCRAVATURA DA ESCRITA
A noção de ESCRITA alargou-se
a TUDO
a QUASE TUDO
porque a escrita é sinônimo de IMAGEM

para se ter
para se ser
Escrevo para compreender
para apreender:
a escrita é o que me revela
